We’ve had a long break over the Christmas / summer holidays and we are ready to start the new year with a few highlights from a recent family session. I hope everyone has had a deserving break no matter where you’re viewing this from
Summer is, no doubt, always more fun when family come together and just, gel! I’ve known members of this wonderful family at different stages of my personal and professional life so it’s an honour being able to capture some of their time together as one vibrant, growing family. Thanks for the hour of fun and many laughs. I was also so impressed at how well the littlest members coped! Here is a sneak peek of three beautiful generations

Preparing for a wedding is never an easy task. I knew how much work Lauren and Anthony had poured into their wedding to make it one of the most memorable events of their lives. Yet I was still mesmerised by it all when I arrived to start photographing. All those little details that make everything perfect – from the headpiece she wore, the beautiful embellishments on her dress, the garden ceremony and floral arrangements, oh, and the car! The whole ambience was a fine balance between classic and modern.
Enjoy the highlights of their wonderful wedding xx

I documented a beautiful, rustic-themed wedding last weekend at the picturesque Q Station in Manly. The last time I was at Q Station was when I experienced a ghost tour and since it was night, never realised how beautiful the surrounds were! It was a blissful ceremony and reception (how could it not be at a location like Q Station), with a super relaxed crowd of attendees, and an absolutely perfect Spring day to top it off. Hope you enjoy the highlights from their special day xx

I spent a glorious Spring afternoon on the weekend with a gorgeous couple who are ready to tie the knot in a matter of weeks. You all know how much I adore photographing weddings, and engagement sessions are right up there as there is no hasty time pressures and everyone can just be at ease and relax! Engagement sessions present a wonderful opportunity for the couple to get comfortable with being in front of the lens and to foster a trusting relationship between themselves and myself as the photographer. It’s the perfect trial run to their special day in a few weeks. Here are some highlights from the afternoon, and stay in touch for the wedding sneak peeks in October!
Last Saturday’s shoot was with a family I’ve known from mothers’ group since my son was born. I was thrilled about capturing the bond between two very special young brothers and their doting parents. Both boys warmed up so well in front of the camera as mum and dad playfully entertained them while I perched behind the lens. I am just amazed at how well both boys did during the shoot, especially Isaac, our toddler star!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of capturing an outdoor maternity shoot for an expectant mummy and her beautiful daughter and husband. The lighting was a photographer’s dream, as we shot at a local nature reserve in The Ponds during the late afternoon close to sunset. Those gorgeous warm tones worked really well for flattering that gorgeous bump! Here are a few sneak peeks for you to enjoy.

I haven’t had a studio session in awhile, so imagine how thrilled I was when I received a request to finally have one! This lovely couple wanted to update their family portraits to match what they had previously when their gorgeous eldest son was only a bub. Now with the addition of their youngest little cherub, I had the wonderful opportunity to capture all four of them together =)

Last week, I had the pleasure of taking my friend’s family portraits which included her partner and beautiful son. We met through our local mothers group and both our boys are the same spirited age of two. About a year ago I captured little Zac and his mum, and I’m always so pleasantly amazed at how much children change within such a small time frame. Zac is certainly growing up to be one cool dude, just like his dad! Thanks Carmen for the wonderful opportunity again to take your portraits. I hope you enjoy your preview!

Mother nature served the perfect weather conditions for our outdoor family session this morning! Cool, wintry, cloudy, but dry enough for us to entertain two year old Liv. The best natural light filter for free.
We shot at one of my favourite locations – Bicentennial Park in Olympic Park. The park itself is so versatile, and provides many settings for couples, children and families alike.
I met little Liv and her family through mother’s group and had taken their family portraits under a year ago. This time however, we had the addition of some very special family members, the grandparents from both sides of the family. It’s always a wonderful touch to be able to include extended family in portraits, especially while the kids are this young and not able to see them on a regular basis. The other bonus is witnessing five adults simultaneously acting silly to get laughs out of the toddler you are trying to capture! Liv was an absolute delight too! She was recorded bopping to her favourite Hi-5 songs with mum and dad, throwing winter leaves and twigs up in the air and playing peek-a-boo behind the trees.
Here’s a sneak preview from this morning that is sure to make you smile

Happy Sunday everyone xx
Of all the family sessions I have shot for, I’ve never taken one this large, vibrant, fun and playful! Looking behind the lens and watching this very close family interact, it reminded me of all the good and important things in life.
We shot locally at The Ponds and took some formal portraits in between entertaining their smallest family member, Xavier. It’s always a challenge photographing children so young, but with seven adults to share the energy, it made for a very fun and spirited shoot!
Enjoy the previews from that weekend’s shoot!
